Go Fund Me?

Hello!

So, I know I go through spells where I never post, and I'm sorry, but today I'm talking about theatre. I love theatre, and I wish to share it with other teens in my community.

My friend, Skyler, created a GoFundMe account, and it would mean so much if you would support it!

Thank you for being such wonderful followers.

Love you all!

Here's that link to the account: www.gofundme.com/18ui2k

Hi! I'm alive! A little update...

Hi!

Long time no talk, I know. I'm lame. I hate going MIA without notice like this. It sucks. :(

A lot has happened in my life lately. The end of school, finals, grades, blah blah blah. But now its over and I'm in full on summer mode! Which means, (hopefully,) blog posts galore!

I DO have a lineup that I'm working on... It's all getting done, in time. :)

Be prepared for blog spam of everything that's gotten so backlogged! It's gonna be great!

Thanks guys,

~Em :)

Lush Oatifix Fresh Face Mask Review

Last week I went to Lush and went in with the idea of buying a Fresh Face Mask (or FFM as I will call it for the rest of this review) and I sort of bought three.... Now, this is not something I recomend doing as they are only good for about two weeks, and need to be refrigerated. You can't buy them online, only in stores because they are just that- FRESH. I only bought three is because I want to eventually try them all out, and to start I got the ones I most wanted to try.

The first one I knew I really wanted to try was Oatifix. People have said great things about this, and I thought I'd test it out.

The consistency of mine was very thick, like playdough, and very hard to put on... I don't know if I need to stir it or what.

I wasn't very generous applying this one, but only because I couldn't get it to apply! Once I figure out what is wrong I'll be less frugal. I mean, if they're only good for two weeks why be stingy? You want to get your money's worth! I loved the way this felt when I first put it on, because they have to be refrigerated and they are so refreshingly cool when you first put them on!
Since this mask is meant to moisturize, it wont dry and tighten your skin, a feeling I personally hate.

The mask is worn for 5-10 minutes, and then you rinse with warm water. I must say, because it is worth noting, when I first put this on my face started to burn near my jawbone and on my forehead. I don't know if this was just my skin's reaction (my skin is VERY sensitive,) or that's what you are supposed to experience. It did go away though, after about a minute or two. This mask wasn't very exfoliating for me, but once again, if my formula was regular it could have been. It has all these little oat pieces that are very nice. My skin was left feeling nice and soft, moisturized, but not greasy at all.

Another thing worth noting about this mask, it smells AMAZING. Like, really, It smells like an oatmeal cookie- almost edible.

If you have dry/sensitive skin and live near a Lush store, you have to pick this up. I promise you’ll enjoy it! And at only $6 for a tub, it’s totally worth it!

Overall, I do think I'd buy this again. I like how the mask made my face feel. However, I would mention the whole consistency issue to a Lush employee.

Let me know if you have any suggestions or requests as to what I purchase next!

Yves Saint Laurent Touche Eclat: Swatches and Review

 Literally, pure gold.

Touche Eclat is a very, very, very nice concealer from Yves Saint Laurent. It's been called "A luminizing pen that brings light and radiance to the skin, immediately erasing any signs of fatigue and brightening the complexion," and that is completely accurate. I use this under my eyes, and over acne and stuff like that, and it works like a charm. Seriously, like, nine hours of sleep in a tube.

This comes in eight shades and the one I got is number eight. It's a pale ivory sort of color, and it isn't right for me, but the woman at Sephora matched my skin so, whatever!

Below is a swatch on the back on my hand, and the applicator:

Touche Eclat has a brush-style applicator, and a button you click to dispense the product. Another thing I like about this is that it only takes one click for the product to come out.

Swatched heavily on the bottom, and blended on the top. Yeah, not really my color, but it gives a nice brightening effect.

My Opinion:

Honestly, I love the stuff. I think it's totally worth the $40. I don't have to use much to get great coverage so I'll have this for a while. On the down side, it does get a little watery at times, and shaking to mix the ingredients doesn't seem to help. I've also heard Milani has a concealer similar to this. I'd look into that before purchasing this, since this is about $33 more expensive. Final verdict, I like it. It's a good buy, and well worth the money.

Ugh... Technology.

Hey everyone!

I am so sorry I haven't posted in a really long time, but my laptop had been having some problems, and then one night last week it just quit on me all of a sudden. We took it up to Best Buy and consulted one of the lovely people at Geek Squad (<3) and they told me my hard drive was shot. So, I've temporarily lost all of my music, pictures, documents, ect. I had to get a new laptop and it came today :) I will get right back to my regular posting schedule as soon as I know I can safely import pictures again, promise.

Until then!

China Glaze Electropop Collection Spring 2012- Swatches and Review

China Glaze's spring collection is here, and not a moment too soon! It's full of bright, happy colors and some sweet pastels too.

~*~*~*~

Aquadelic is a creamy, perfect turquoise. This might be my favorite in the collection. It's so great! In relation to For Audrey it is brighter and a tad bit more blue. This applied like a dream. Two coats.

Dance Baby. Super sweet bubblegum pink- very girly. This is perfect for spring. I saw this and I knew I'd be wearing it a lot; I love pink. Two coats.

Electric Beat. A perfect  soft cornflower blue/periwinkle. WAY better than Secret Peri-wink-le. It's creamier, and smoother and much more opaque. It was perfect in two coats.

Fuchsia Fanatic. This is one of those crazy berry-based shades that wants to turn really red when photographed. It's not this red. It's more fuchsia, hence the name. The China Glaze picture shows the color much better:

Fuchsia Fanatic

Gaga for Green. Nice, yellow-based green creme. I was really surprised by this one. In the promo pics and in the bottle it looks like its going to be this crazy bright green, but it actually has a very nice softness to it that I like.

Gothic Lolita. This one really surprised me too, because it's such an awesome purple! Light, but almost medium, red-purple, that has very faint red and blue shimmer. It's more of a secret shimmer than anything else because it only comes out when the lighting is exactly right. You can't really see it in my picture, but if you look at the bottle, see the weird blue and red line on the front? That's where some of the shimmer has collected because of how the bottle was sitting when this was being sent to me.

Kinetic Candy. Light baby blue. Another polish I can't wait to wear, that's also great for spring.

Make Some Noise. This is almost a red. It leans between red, orange and coral. Very neat. This one seems to have a semi-jelly finish (just a little bit sheer, but still squishy looking) compared to all the other colors, which are dense, opaque cremes.

Sunshine Pop. Bright yellow shimmer. I'll say it again: I hate yellow nail polishes. They just make your nails look dirty! The formula on this one was a little funny compared to all the others, but it is a yellow, so that's to be expected. It seemed thicker, and it was harder to control. Three coats, just to even everything out.

Sweet Hook. Beautiful light purple creme. Honestly, this one isn't very unique, but if you don't have a good pastel purple in your collection, this is a good one to consider.

Techno. This one is a re-promote. It's a clear base with tiny silver-based holographic glitter and larger hexagon silver holographic glitter. It's very sheer (three coats here) so it's perfect for layering as a glitter topcoat.

Wicked Style. Another one of those shades that wants to turn orange-red for me! I'd still call it coral, but not an orange-coral.. more like raspberry coral, if that exists. China glaze calls this "party tropical punch" and I'd say that's a pretty good description. Again, the promo pic shows the color better:

Wicked Style

Since Techno is so nice for layering, I thought I'd try it out over a few of these. I wanted to see it over a few bright and pastel colors, but I wanted some darker colors too.

 Techno (one coat) over Aquadelic

Techno (one coat) over Dance Baby.

Techno (one coat) over Electric Beat.

Techno (one coat) over Gothic Lolita.

Techno (one coat) over Sunshine Pop.

The formula on these were great, for the most part. I only had trouble with Sunshine Pop, which was thick and goopy, and Gaga for Green which was thin. Otherwise these are dense, creamy, opaque colors that were nearly perfect in one coat. I did two coats on everyone, except Techno and Sunshine Pop, but they didn't need more than that. These dry quickly and to a glossy finish, except Techno, which dries dull without topcoat. The brushes were all even, and defect free.

However, I feel like I've seen most of these color before. It's like a cross between Up and Away, Ecollection, and Custom Kicks collection. I'm not saying I don't like it, because I love every color, but maybe China Glaze needs to branch out from the colors they've already given us. I can't really think of anything I'd change about the collection. I love how the colors look on my nails, and the bright-but-soft colors are a great splash thrown in with the pastels. This feels really carefree and lighthearted, which was what I loved about Up and Away from 2010.

Overall, I like this collection. A lot. Especially Aquadelic, Gothic Lolita, Electric Beat and Dance Baby. Always nice to have cheerful colors this time of year. The easy, streak-free application and smooth formula on these seals the deal for me. Great collection.

This collection will be available starting in February.

(This was NOT sent for review. I had to pay for this collection with MY OWN MONEY.)

Playing Catch-Up: Christmas Haul

I really don't remember how I was going to start this post, but I know I need to catch up on posting. Here's the haul I meant to put up a LONG time ago, but forgot about.

Nail Polish/Nail Art:

 Zoya Flash Collection.

From left to right: Robyn; Perrie; Dana; Jolene; Maura; and Jancyn.

My personal favorites are Maura, and Robyn. I like Robyn because those kinds of blues are my weaknesses, and Maura... well, you'd have to know me personally. :)

Zoya Gems and Jewels Collection.
Left to right: Rina; Holly; Kissy; Izzy; Twila; and Noel.

I've already worn Twila and Noel together on my toes, and I loved it! It was so pretty.
A few Wet 'n Wild polishes from my cousins :)

Left to right: Sparked; Bijou Blue; Caribbean Frost; and Lavender Creme.

I really don't understand why it's named Lavender Creme, the color is more of a very bright pink, lol.

Love and Beauty (from Forever 21) polish, Red/Black.

This is red, black, and silver hexagon glitter suspended in a clear base. I haven't tried it yet, (as with most of these polishes,) but I'm sure I'm going to love it when I do. It looks awesome!

And on that note, I will have swatches of everything I'm showing...as soon as I get more cotton pads, and as soon as my nails are all even again. It shouldn't be but a few days.

A small collection of Konad plates.

This is m59, m12, m56, and m3.

:)
 M59.

Starting at the top, then going clockwise, then the middle this plate has: a bunch of hearts, both outlines and full hearts; an eight-point snowflake; a large bow; a heart with polka dots, and a heart outline with hearts on the inside; a large polka-dotted bow; a six-point snowflake; and "Lovely" with two more hearts.

 M12.

In the same order as above: bells with holly; a reindeer with sunglasses; a candy cane with a bow; a Christmas tree; "Merry Christmas!" in a pretty font; a happy, grinning snowman; and Santa Clause, himself.
 M56.

In the same order: a heart french tip; a checkerboard french tip; a swirly french tip; a leaf french tip; a flower french tip, and a ribbon french tip, with a small bow.

M3.

In the same order: a small cluster or hearts; two flowers; a string or stars; four small hearts; two more flowers; a cluster of stars; and two little bows.

 25 new Bundle Monster plates!

I haven't unwrapped, or even looked at these yet, I've been so busy. :-( When I do I'll have pictures and descriptions of every one of them. I'm so excited!

Makeup/Cosmetics:

Obsessive Compulsive Cosmetics' Lip Tars! :D

From left to right: Hoochie; Trollop; Queen; Anime; Clear; NSFW; and Hush, (which is my mom's, but it evened out the picture!)

Oh, you have no idea how excited I am about these. I love them to tears. They are insanely, amazingly, most definitely fabulous. Full review and swatches coming (very!) soon.

BH Cosmetics' Brush Kit!

This kit includes: a powder brush; blush brush; foundation brush; smudge brush; large eyeshadow brush; small eyeshadow brush; eyebrow brush; lip brush; pointed eye liner brush; and a mascara brush.

I love this kit so much. I use my blush brush everyday! They are all so soft, they feel really nice. Review to come!

Smackers Dr. Pepper, and Cotton Candy flavored lip glosses.
What can I say? I'm a sucker for soda flavored lip products! They just smell, (and..erhm..taste...,) so good!
Smackers Chapstick.

CHAPSTICK!!!!!

As the story goes, I am notorious for losing chapstick. I honestly cannot think of a time when I went though an entire tube without losing it. So I'm pretty sure this 3-pack qualifies as the BEST. GIFT. EVER! Thank you!

Other:

The amazing bag that everything from my cousins came from.

Two words.

Betsey. Johnson.
The super cute lightning bolt zipper.

I mean, Betsey Johnson?! Come on!!!

The back pocket, with Christmas scissors.

Seriously, thank you guys SO MUCH. This bag is amazing.

And so is everything inside of it!

All of that nail polish, lip gloss, chapstick (!!!), the bag, and now candy!

I'm pretty sure I'm in heaven right now.
And, last but not least, these cool face mask things! I'm really not sure how to use them, but they look great!

:)

And so, I've now got everything from Christmas posted. Yay me!--Not really. I've got so much other stuff to do, it's not even funny. Well, all for now.

Thanks for reading!
